KENYA UPDATE FOR SUNDAY MARCH 9
It's 10pm Sunday night. We
arrived back in Langata around 8pm, after a long drive back from Nakuru.
We got stuck in terrible traffic when a semi truck went off the road
and fell over, causing a traffic jam in both directions for many miles.
But we had a good visit in Bahati at the Church on the Rock there. Very
lively worship with good music and dancing, preaching from Matt, and
presentations from children and adults who were visiting from four
of their daughter churches. The people were incredibly warm and
sincerely friendly. They treated us to a good lunch following the
three-hour service.
PRAYER REQUEST FOR MONDAY:
The
team will be visiting the Kibera Slums tomorrow morning. Kibera is home
to about 2 million of Kenya's poorest inhabitants, who live under the
worst possible conditions (no water, electricity or sewer system of any
kind; they are packed in makeshift shacks made of sheets of tin and
pieces of wood and cardboard.
The plan is to walk through the
slums, and talk with and pray for people we encounter along the way. We
will also be working the feeding station situated just on the edge of
the slums.
Please pray for this time. Pray for God's leading
and prompting as we visit the people there, and pray for physical,
emotional and spiritual strength for the team. Thank you!
God bless,Jeff
